Floor Span Check · Precision & Speed in Estimating
Stocked 11-7/8 5000 spans are confirmed against the BCI book (★★★★ Four Star, L/960+). Below the stock decision, two book-style span grids — BCI (★★★★ target) and TJI (★★★ L/480, re-verify for Four Star) — highlight every member×spacing the book carries that holds your span (green = Four Star L/960 · blue = Three Star L/480 · dim = short). Subfloor moves with the chosen spacing (23/32" T&G OSB; 1-1/8" CDX T&G at 32" o.c.). Spans served from /api/vireo/spans (one source of truth).

Subfloor moves with the effective spacing: 23/32" T&G OSB glued + nailed, stepped up to 1-1/8" CDX T&G at 32" o.c. (the book wants ≥7/8" rated; we don't stock 7/8"). Sheet count ≈ deck area (span × run) ÷ 32 SF + 10% waste — a draft, not a cut list. Stocked 11-7/8 BCI joists are ordered by length: SKU 11BCI2011BCI44 (rounded up to the next stocked length — offcut reuses), rim board 11RIM figured by perimeter ÷ 24'. Stocked ladder 20/24/28/30/32/36/40/44 confirmed vs the store master; 22/26/34/38 aren't stocked, so a needed length snaps up to the next real one. Joist length shown is the span + bearing rounded up — a single solid joist over interior bearing may order longer (layout call). This is the self-serve span check — it answers one question: does the stocked joist cover your span, and if not, what size does (the BCI / TJI grids show the members that hold). Floor-SUPPORT members — ledger, girder, bearing posts, hangers — are part of the full Vireo take-off service, not this tool. TJI options live in the ★★★ Three Star zone (L/480 — re-verify Four Star in ForteWEB). Pony-wall girder + special-order items are callouts — size/availability per supplier & engineer. Vireo flags & proposes; it does not engineer.
